Human Resources (HR) have been experiencing significant changes thanks to the evolution of digital technologies in the last decades. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is reshaping the way businesses are managing people, workforce plans to increase overall productivity and employee engagement. The HTW Berlin is looking for partners to collaborate with in Student Master Projects (approx. 12-14 weeks) to work on business challenges in regards to bring AI into human resource management (HRM).

The idea of the HTW HR Strategy Master Class is to take Action-Learning to the next level and let students gain real experiences in consulting with real corporation. With partners from industry students are working on real problems and challenges in the fields of HR Management, Diagnostics, ERP, HRIM, Change Management or Organizational Behavior. The project, provided by the industry partner, allows student groups of 4-5 people to deliver real solutions and project management capabilities to the partner.
In this course, students develop in groups of 4-5 students in the field of HR Technologies, centered around Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, applied concepts and scenario proposals. The project goal is provided by the company, which seeks an improvement in its HR organization or its HR information technology strategy.
Expected solution proposals
At the end of this master class, each group delivers a concept proposal. Example topics and applied fields can be:
• Aligning organization for its digital future
• HR Process Reengineering
• Team based organization design;
• Competence based organization designs;
• Improve HR operating mode;
• Digital Technologies in HR;
• Built market-driven organizations e.g. sales organization
• Knowledge Management
• Enterprise and Social Connectivity in HR
• Data Analytics in HR.
The master class will be coached by Prof. Dr. Kai Reinhardt, a full university professor and expert i the field of Organizational Development and International Strategy. Students apply modern project management and communication tools to the problem. Projects are seen and handled as “new ventures” – rather than from a classical educational perspective. With this approach, students will aim to deliver specific value to the project partner. Students will learn, to think in ‘customer stories’ and will learn to work highly result-driven.
